Kapolei Inline Hockey Arenas

Jon Chun may be the hardest working player at KIHA and is the kind of guy that eats nails and spits rust.  With only 3 minutes remaining in the game and with his team up by one Jon went hard to the goal but came face to stick with the end of the goalies stick blade.  It was an unintentional high stick and would have sidelined a normal player but not Jon Chun who runs marathons while eating Aoki's Shave Ice.  Knowing Jon he probably adds some ice cream and some beans to it as well.

Altogether it was a great D1 Championship Game with great playing from Eric Mijares and Kaipo Cabral to Mitch Furukawa who scored an incredible slap shot in the last ten minutes.  Other notables were Logan Sussman and Everett Arakawa who scored the eventual game winner.  

Hats off to both goalies who played stellar in the finals.  Io Keehu for the Cobras and the young Timothy Krupinski who came away with the win.   Both goalies have been very special to the KIHA rink giving back to the kids through education and training.  With goalie guys like Io and Timmy KIHA's goalies get a wealth of knowledge and have terrific role models to look up to.

What do you do when you get a stick to the face in Hawaii?  Answer...put some Shave Ice on it.
