Perseverance: The act of persisting.

Michael Pentecost and his Wranglers teammates wrangled up a huge win in the D2 playoffs last Thursday night in Overtime.  After being down 3-0 right out of the gate their team leader Jon Chun scored to give them hope off of a pass by Noah Cullen who would later on be really instrumental in the game's final result.  But then the Wranglers found themselves in a deep hole down 5-1 after a pair of goals by Burvall and the speeedy Arakawa who scored his Hat trick.  Scoring a goal here and a goal there they climbed back to a 6-4 score but then it all seemed over when Stephen Burke who has had a hot hand scored to push the score to 7-4 in favor of the Bighorns.

But that is when things changed.  Jon Chun scored off a pass from Noel Nakasone who went on to set up Michael Pentecost on what was the nicest pass in the game after streaking down the left wing and firing a hard backhand pass across the crease to MP who directed into the top shelf where momma hides the cookies to tie the game and to send it into overtime.

In what was one of the best comebacks in the season if not the best, the stage was set for a hero to arise.  With a flurry of chances for both teams it wasn't until Noah Cullen made a terrific play to gather up the puck and turn up the floor and freeze the Bighorns goalie just enough to allow him time to set up Ryan "Sweethands" Shimanuki who came down his off wing and slipped a crafty snap shot to send his Wranglers into the Finals after a 0-10 regular season.  Now they are 1-0 and the past doesn't matter.
