KIHA IS A ZERO TOLERANCE FACILITY EFECTIVE 3/8/23

In order to make our facility safe for everyone, KIHA is a zero tolerance facility. We ask that all players, parents and guests practice good manners and enjoy their experiences here. We have now introduced our policies so that our participants may have the best experience while here at our facility

 

Policies and rules to remain in good standing

Social media - We ask our members to please use social media respectfully in regard to our business and management

Onsite participation - Please enjoy your child's or spouse's participation. Sit, watch and cheer them on. 

Safety Your safety and the safety of your children are our first priority. Please make us aware of any safety concerns

Proprietary information - KIHA customer lists are the property of our business. Please do not use our contacts for personal use

Private business - KIHA reserves the right to deny participation to anyone at anytime by management or ownership

Marketing/resale on property - Unless ownership approves, selling of merchandise or marketing competitive products within our facility is not allowed 

Alcohol and controlled substances - Are not allowed at any time in the building or parking lot

Youth Program Information for FALL 2023

The main goal is to give every child an opportunity to participate in a hockey program within their respective age group while also encouraging their overall development and challenging them to play at the next age group while having a great amount of fun in the process.

*Please note players and parents must be a member in good standing to register and play at KIHA. KIHA will notify individuals in regard to our policies and rules. 

Copy of birth certificate or POA (proof of age) required for all new participants 

For NEW players, we have the Learn to hockey skate and learn to play hockey clinics before joining a league. 

For our in-house program, all tournament hockey players are required to play up an age division. For female hockey players, even if they are tournament players, they may play their proper age. 

Games begin July 22nd and season ends the week of September 16th Please note there "may" be two sets of weeknight games to finish the season before the holidays. 

Our in-house league rules

8 and under 2 x 15 minute halves

10u,12/14u 2 x 16 minute halves

16u 2 x 22 minute halves 

Ties at the end of regulation go to shootout except 8u

3 man shootout, no winner sudden death shootout till winner 

2 points winning team 1 point for OT loss 

Any player identified as a tournament player, must play up an age division. HD decision is final. Female tournament players may play in their age appropriate division, but not down a division

KIHA does not allow players to play "DOWN" an age division, unless there are special circumstances. We now have our Learn to Hockey skate beginner class and Learn to play hockey beginner program for all new to hockey players.

KIHA refund policy 

LESSONS & CAMPS

Learn to Play, Learn to Skate, Skills Camps & Clinics

  • Payment for a session is due prior to the first class in the session. 
  • KIHA does not not offer makeups, credits, refunds, carryovers, for no-shows, cancellations or missed classes within a session.
  • If a program is cancelled by KIHA participants will be offered a partial refund or account credit for the remaining dates in the session.
  • Cancellations prior to a clinic, camp or event beginning, are 100% refundable up to  5 days in advance of the first day in the session. Any cancellation after that will result in a credit issued for a future session.

KIHA ADULT HOCKEY LEAGUE

  • Players are required to pay for the full cost of the season for the league. 
  • Payment for league participation is non-refundable and credited to the next KIHA season. 
  • If a season is cancelled by KIHA, participants will be offered a partial refund or account credit for the remaining dates in the season.
  • KIHA Hockey League players wishing to cancel once the season has begun, will have their pro rated credit toward another season good good for one year. 

KIHA YOUTH LEAGUES

  • Players are required to pay for the full cost of the season for the league. 
  • Payment for league participation is non-refundable and a future credit will be issued for a future KIHA season with either full/ half or unused portion of season. 
  • If a season is cancelled by KIHA, participants will be offered a partial refund or account credit for the remaining dates in the season. 

PARTICIPANT MISCONDUCT

Participants recognize the importance of following staff and coach instructions, and agree to follow such instructions. Management reserves the right to refuse admission to, or eject, any person whose conduct is deemed by Management to be disorderly, who uses vulgar or abusive language, or who fails to comply with the rules, terms and conditions applicable to the KIHA facility, programs and events. Any fees paid in advance of a participant's removal from a the facility, a program or event are non-refundable.

All participants taking part in activities at KIHA are required to sign a participation waiver of liability.
