YOUTH LEAGUE STARTS PRACTICES ON 1/5/26

AGE CUT OFF IS 12/31/25

Reminder when you are new to the youth league, you must order your jerseys before your first practice $175 per set for 8u to 17u and $130 per set for 6u.

6u Thursdays 6:00 - 7:00 $60 per player ( 2 PAYMENTS EVERY 5 WEEKS)  9 games
11u 6:30 - 7:30PM MONDAYS. $145 per player *new time
8U 6:30- 7:30PM  TUESDAYS $125 per player *new time 
12/13u, 6:00 - 7:15pm  WEDNESDAYS $195 per player
14-17u, 6:00 - 7:15pm WEDNESDAYS $195 per player 
8 -10 practices/9 games (playoffs included) ages 8u, 10u, 12-13u, 14-17

DOUBLE HEADERS MAY BE PLAYED on WEEKDAYS

Two/Three/Four teams per division, 10 players max per team

***TOURNAMENT PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED TO PLAY UP ONE DIVISION IN AGE. *EXAMPLE, 8U TOURNAMENT PLAYER WOULD BE REQUIRED TO PLAY IN 11u. FEMALE TOURNAMENT PLAYERS MAY ONLY PLAY IN THEIR CORRECT AGE DIVISION AND ABOVE. THEY MAY NOT PLAY DOWN A DIVISION. 

KIHA reserves the right to put players at their skill level for their safety, comfort and improvement. Final league Player placement is at the discretion of the hockey director

Any youth player who wishes to participate in the adult division must have hockey director approval and be 14 - 17 years of age. They may also be required to participate in the 14-17u division at the discretion of the Hockey director. The Hockey director has the final decision in where a child may play.

D5 we allow a minimum of 14 years. Each youth player parent must sign a waiver recognizing their child is competing with adults 

Wahine league is for mom's and daughter's KIHA will base the league on skill and safety. Players may participate as young as 10 years old 

The main goal is to give every child an opportunity to participate in a hockey program within their respective age group while also encouraging their overall development and challenging them to play at the next age group while having a great amount of fun in the process.

*Please note players and parents must be a member in good standing to register and play at KIHA. KIHA will notify individuals in regard to our policies and rules. 

Copy of birth certificate or POA (proof of age) required for all new participants 

For NEW players, we have the Learn to hockey skate and learn to play hockey clinics before joining a league. 

For our in-house program, all tournament hockey players are required to play up an age division. For female hockey players, even if they are tournament players, they may play their proper age. 

Games begin January 6th and season ends the middle of March. 

Our in-house league rules

6u 2x 10 minute halves Thursday games 6:00pm

8u 2 x 10 minute halves  2 minute stopped time shifts Saturday games 9:00, 9:45am, 10:15am 

11u 2 x 12 minute halves  Saturday games 10:15am, 10:45 and 11:30am

12/13u 2 x 16 minute halves Saturday games 9:00am

14-17 2 x 16 minute halves Saturday games 9:45 and 10:30am

Ties stand as is. 

Any player identified as a tournament player, must play up an age division. HD decision is final. Female tournament players may play in their age appropriate division, but not down a division

KIHA does not allow players to play "DOWN" an age division, unless there are special circumstances. We now have our Learn to Hockey skate beginner class and Learn to play hockey beginner program for all new to hockey players.

Learn to Play, Learn to Skate, Skills Camps & Clinics

• Payment for a session is due prior to the first class in the session. 
• KIHA does not not offer makeups, credits, refunds, carryovers, for no-shows, cancellations or missed classes within a session.
• If a program is cancelled by KIHA participants will be offered a partial refund or account credit for the remaining dates in the session.
• Cancellations prior to a clinic, camp or event beginning, are 100% refundable up to  5 days in advance of the first day in the session. Any cancellation after that will result in a credit issued for a future session.

KIHA YOUTH LEAGUES

• Players are required to pay for the full cost of the season for the league. 
• Payment for league participation is non-refundable and a future credit will be issued for a future KIHA season with either full/ half or unused portion of season.
